Research
Our research focus is on nonlinear optics, in particular nonlinear optical spectroscopy of surfaces/interfaces and low-dimensional materials. We initiated the study of oxide surface phonons using the sum-frequency spectroscopy, and developed the field enhanced sum-frequency spectroscopy for probing a variety of buried interfaces. We also conducted nonlinear optical studies on low-dimensional materials for their peculiar properties and applications.
